What is the Visa Type R Accumulated Time?

It is a Colombian visa granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a maximum period of 5 years, taking into account the foreigner's activity in Colombia. The time period is finally defined by the Ministry. Workers with temporary, occasional or short-term contracts who are linked or hired by a natural or legal person domiciled in Colombia and those who, without having a contractual relationship in Colombia, must provide specialized technical assistance, are eligible for this visa. The basic requirements for eligibility are as follows:

Passport

Original valid passport with at least 2 blank pages.

Digital photo

1 digital photo 3 x 4 cm white background without accessories. Physical/printed photos are not accepted.

Copies

Copy of all visas and salvoconductos.

Identification

Cédula de Extranjería.

Migratory movements

Certificate of Migratory Movements issued by the Special Administrative Unit of Migration Colombia, less than three (3) months ago.

Supporting documents of the previous visa.

* For spouses or permanent partners: Letter of request declaring the continuity of the relationship + copy of identity card + authenticated power of attorney.

Letter of request

Signed application letter explaining: source of income + how the conditions that gave rise to the previous visa are maintained for the accumulation of time.

Certificate of source of income

Certificate of current occupation or source of income.

EPS affiliation

Certificate of affiliation to the EPS and support of the payment of the last 6 months.

Certificate of Migratory Movements

Request and issuance of the document that confirms the records that appear in the database of the immigration authorities, on the entry and exit of a national and/or foreign citizen from Colombia.
