What is the Visa V-Type Student?

The Student Visa is for face-to-face, virtual or distance studies in art or trade, preschool, primary, primary, secondary, middle school, education for work and human development, and higher education; or for student internships, and academic exchange by agreement between higher education institutions. Passport holders from countries or territories exempted from visa requirements, as determined by Resolution, will be exempted from the processing of this type of visa as long as their stay in Colombia does not exceed 180 calendar days.

Passport

Original valid passport with at least 2 blank pages and 6 months of validity.

Digital photo

1 digital photo 3 x 4 cm white background without accessories. Physical/printed photos are not accepted.

Stamp

Last entry stamp to Colombia (Optional)

Admission

Certificate of admission indicating the duration of study + receipt of payment of tuition fees.

Bank statements

Bank statements for the last 6 months > 10 SMMLV (USD 2,500/ Month Approx.)

Letter of motivation

Motivation letter signed by the foreigner specifying his/her objectives in Colombia, his/her schedule of activities, and declaring his/her economic responsibility.

Health policy

Health policy with coverage in the national territory against all risks in case of accident, illness, maternity, disability, hospitalization, death or repatriation, for the time foreseen for their stay in the country.
