What is the Visa R-Type Mercosur?

This is a Colombian visa granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a maximum period of 5 years. It is granted to those foreigners who have completed a minimum continuous and uninterrupted period of two (2) years as holders of M Mercosur Visa. 

Please note that the processing time may vary, and that the final response on the visa application as well as the time of granting in case of approval, correspond solely to the decision by Discretionary Power of the Colombian Government.

What are the requirements for the Visa Type R Mercosur?

Passport

Original valid passport with at least 2 blank pages and 6 months of validity.

Digital Photo

1 digital photo 3 x 4 cm white background without accessories. Physical/printed photos are not accepted.

Migratory Movements

Certificate of Migratory Movements issued by the Special Administrative Unit of Migration Colombia, less than three (3) months ago.

EPS affiliation

Support of affiliation to the EPS and paid payroll for the last 6 months.

Judicial Background

Certificate of judicial antecedents issued by the Colombian authority.

Source of Income

Certificate of current occupation or source of income.

Certificate of Migratory Movements

Request and issuance of the document that confirms the records that appear in the database of the immigration authorities, on the entry and exit of a national and/or foreign citizen from Colombia.
